On June 7, 2012 Maia Sidamonidze the Chairman of the National Tourism Agency visited Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University. Ms. Sidamonidze visited University’s Material – Technician base, TV – Radio, criminalistics lab, imitated bank, tourist agency and consulting study laboratories. She introduced the teaching nuances of Geo-Informational systems in Tourism and etc.
After that the guest met the students of Tourism Direction of the Business Administration Faculty in the University’s conference hall and she talked about the implemented reforms and future perspectives. Ms. Maia talked about the mission of the National Tourism Agency as the organ of state policy and said that it is very important that the agency should increase the awareness of the Georgia as a tourist country in the international market, provide the stimulation of the local and foreign tourism development in the country, to promote the creation of business-friendly environment, increase the competitiveness in the international tourism market, to ensure the popularization of the safety country's image and formation of the strong brand.
She also talked about the structure and priorities of the National Tourism Agency. She emphasized the development of tourism development infrastructure throughout the country, the preparation of highly qualified staff in the tourism sphere, the popularization of tourist areas by different marketing activities.
Ms. Maia also answered students’ questions.
