On October 23, a "Bread Festival" was organized in Samtskhe-Javakheti, in the city of Akhaltsikhe.
The objective of the event was to promote traditional and local products, such as local bread and wheat, as well as to introduce the public to the region's agro-tourism potential and to support local projects.
The "Bread Festival" was also attended by students from GuramTavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University's Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.
Participation of students in similar events is a great way for young people interested in agro-tourism to improve their practical knowledge and skills. Students are offered the opportunity to work in the tourism industry in the private sector as well as to increase the awareness and development of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
The festival was hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD); Also with the support of the Georgian National Museum, Akhaltsikhe Municipality and Akhaltsikhe Fortress.
