Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University Hosted the Coordination Meeting

On October 15, 2014 Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University hosted the coordination meeting of ‘TEMPUS’ project participants.

The projects aims at presenting the final version of Network of Competence Centers for the development of Cruise Tourism in the Black Sea Region; presenting the principal trends of Cruise tourism regional researches and consulting, their survey and discussions; planning the raise of qualification and internship for project participants together with the European partners; organizing the seminars on project quality assurance issues and evaluating 9 month results of the project operation.

Apart from Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University, the project participants are HEI from Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Rumania, Georgia and 15 HEI from Ukraine, Georgian National Tourism Administration, Adjara Tourism and Resort Department, Batumi, Black and Azov Sea Port Association and travel companies.

The project idea is to support Black Sea Region, in particular, Georgia’s integration into cruise tourism market with the help of so called ‘Knowledge triangle’.

The coordination meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs _ Maia Panjikidze and Deputy Minister of Education and Science _ Giorgi Shervashidze, Ms. Lika Ghlonti, The Coordinator of TEMPUS National Office and Rusudan Mamatsashvili _ Acting Head of Georgian national Tourism Administration.

The projects started in 201 and will be finalized in 2016.
