International Museum Day was established by the International Council of Museums on May 18, 1977, and the International Museum Society has been celebrating this date for more than 40 years. Of course, GTUNI supports this initiative every year.

This year, the theme of International Museum Day was "Museums, Sustainable Development, and Prosperity".

In connection with the International Day of Museums, the students of GuramTavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University, at the initiative of Sofiko Tevdoradze, the head of the bachelor's program in tourism, visited and toured several museums in Tbilisi.
