Training for Future Psychologists: 21st Century Skills for Children

Yesterday, on November 28, 2019, a training course 21st Century Skills for Children was held at Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University.

The training was led by practitioner psychologist and art therapist Lika Lachashvili.

The following issues were discussed on the training:

• Age characteristics of 5 - 6 years old children. Causes and circumstances of development or failure of mental functions;

• The crucial role of the teacher and parent in the age development;

• Myths and realities in psychosocial development;

• I - concept and self-esteem;

• The importance of inclusive education and its principles;

• Prevention and information to detect behavioural and mental disorders;

•Planning of learning in a School readiness group;

• Strategies for teaching basic arithmetic;

• Native language and phonemic exercises.

At the end of the training the participants were awarded with certificates.
