On February 3, 2023, Rector of GTUNI Sukhumi State University, Professor Zurab Khonelidze, Head of International Relations and Intercultural Relations, Professor Indira Dzagania and Rector's Assistant - Ana Samakhashvili visited GTUNI.
The purpose of the meeting was to involve GTUNI in the project: "Creation of psychological counseling centers for students in higher educational institutions of Georgia".
The coordinator of the mentioned project is Sukhumi State University.
The following universities are also involved in the project, which is coordinated by Sukhumi State University: Tbilisi State University; Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University; Shota Meskhiia Zugdidi State Teaching University; Yakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University; Kutaisi University; Gori State Teaching University; Samtskhe-Javakheti State University; Caucasus University; Tbilisi Physical Health Crisis Intervention Service; Bydgoszcz University of Economics (Poland); Transylvania University of Brasov (Romania) and Strategic Center for Strengthening Human Skills (Italy).
A memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions was signed during the meeting. Professor Giorgi Matiashvili, rector of GTUNI, and Professor Zurab Khonelidze, rector of Sukhumi State University, both endorsed the memorandum.
GTUNI and Sukhumi State University intend to carry out additional educational, cultural, and research-based initiatives in accordance with the terms of the memorandum.
